The Tennessee Titans make the relatively short trip to Kansas City this Sunday, December 11th where they’ll face the surging Chiefs at Arrowhead stadium. The Titans have won two in a row and have climbed into a first-place tie in the AFC South with Houston at 7-6 following their 13-10 home win over Denver last week. The Chiefs enter the weekend on a three-game winning streak as they downed Oakland 21-13 at home last week in a huge game. Kansas is now tied with the Raiders for first place in the AFC West at 10-3.

Tennessee Titans – A Closer Look:
The Tennessee Titans looked good in their 13-10 win over Denver last week and should be a confident bunch with some momentum on their side heading to Kansas. They’re tied with the Texans atop the AFC South with three games to go in the campaign. DeMarco Murray led the way against Denver with a touchdown and 92 rushing yards. Tennessee managed to rack up 180 yards against the Broncos’ front seven on their 42 carries. They’ll have a better chance against a tough Chiefs’ defense if they can continue with a solid ground game.
The Titans are ranked third in the league when it comes to rushing as they average 114.5 yards per outing. However, they’ll also need another good defensive effort. The 10 points they conceded against Denver last weekend was the Broncos’ season low. The defensive performance came at the perfect time since quarterback Marcus Mariota didn’t have his greatest outing as he completed just six of his passing attempts. Tennessee is 2-4 against the spread away from home this year.
Kansas City Chiefs – A Closer Look:
Kansas is one of the league’s hottest teams right now and their exciting 21-13 win against Oakland was crucial to their playoff hopes. They’re now tied with Oakland for first spot in the AFC West. That’s quite an achievement considering they were 2-2 after their first four games this year. The Chiefs’ defense was spot on against the Raiders as it held quarterback Derek Carr to just 117 passing yards as he went 17 for 41. Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill also had fine games. Hill chipped in with a pair of touchdowns with one of them coming on a punt return of 78-yards and he leads Kansas in touchdowns this year with nine on the season.
Kelce was also effective with 101 yards on five receptions. The tight end has now reached at least 100 yards in each of his past four games. He’s just the third tight end in the league to record four straight outings of more than 100 yards in the past 50 years. On the down side, linebacker Derrick Johnson was injured against Oakland as he suffered a torn left Achilles tendon and is out for the season. The Chiefs’ defense will miss him since the squad has been conceding only 19.6 points against on average per game, which is the eight-best in the league. Kansas will be facing a Tennessee team which racks up an average of 372.3 yards a game this year, which is the eighth-most in the league. Kansas City is 2-4 against the spread at home.
