In the NBA Finals betting odds for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, as they are established by the people at BetAnySports, Golden State is a slight favorite on the road:
Golden State Warriors -1
Cleveland Cavaliers +1
Over 194 points -110
Under 194 points -110
The Cleveland Cavaliers appeared to have their backs against the wall as they had to play without their star point guard, Kyrie Irving, but they demonstrated that even short-handed, they can do what looked nearly impossible, which was to defeat the Golden State Warriors at the Oracle Arena. Cleveland’s 95-93 overtime victory, the second straight game in this series that had to go an extra session, marked Golden State’s fourth defeat in 51 home games on the season. And BetAnySports customers were amazed once again by the performance of Lebron James, who registered a triple-double with 39 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists.
Game 3 in NBA betting action takes place at 9 PM ET on Tuesday at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, and will be televised live by ABC. This will be the opportunity for the Cavaliers to exert their own home-court advantage, where they have been the best in the NBA since January 19, registering a 26-2 straight-up record and holding their opponents to 41.5% shooting. They have been the best defensive team in the playoffs thus far, allowing just 41% of their opponents’ shots to go in.
Lebron took 39% of his teams shots on the evening, and he was not terribly accurate, hitting just 11 out of 35 attempts. But he obviously was a presence every time down the floor, and was able to chew up shot clock, which was something that made the Warriors inpatient. This was not a great shooting game for either squad; Cleveland hit only 32% of their shots overall, with all of the Cavaliers aside from Lebron hitting less than 33% (18/55).
One of the things BetAnySports patrons can look for once again is that Timofey Mozgov is going to be a force underneath. He brings so much size to the table that it is difficult for Golden State to contend with; he had 17 points and 11 rebounds in only 29 minutes of action, and Golden State felt compelled to foul him enough where he took a dozen free throws. If that was a “hacking” strategy, it did not work so well.
Lebron, as mentioned, had 11 assists, and remarkably, no one else on the Cleveland roster had more than a single dish on the night. Without Irving, it is King James taking matters into his own hands completely. One of the big surprises in Game 2 was at the Cleveland bench at a 21-17 scoring advantage. Golden State will have to reverse that at the very least if they are to take a lead in this series. And Steph Curry, the league MVP, will have to heat up. He made only five out of his 23 shots, including just 2-15 from three-point range.
