Manchester City is focused on a fourth-place finish and a berth in next season’s European Champions League as they’re 14 points back of first-place Chelsea with seven games to go. City enters the weekend in fourth place with 61 points from 18 wins, seven draws and six losses. They have 60 goals for and 35 against. They’re also seven points behind second-place Tottenham Hotspur and two points behind third-place Liverpool with a game in hand. City’s lead fifth-place Manchester United is just four points with United having a game in hand. They’re also seven up on Arsenal and Everton with a game in hand on Everton and Arsenal having a game in hand on City.
Man City’s win last weekend ended a four-game winless skid. They have five wins, four draws and a loss in their past 10 league outings with 19 goals scored and nine allowed. Away from home, City has 10 wins, a draw, and five defeats this season while scoring 33 times and conceding 20. Manager Pep Guardiola has a pretty healthy squad to choose from this weekend as forward Gabriel Jesus and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan are the only players on the injury list, but they’re both out with long-term injuries.
