Dolphins vs Patriots Odds – NFL Betting Preview

Jay Cutler, who was signed to a one-year, $10 million deal before the season and after Ryan Tannehill went down with a knee injury, had an awful experience against Tampa Bay last week, throwing three interceptions in the first half before he was knocked out of the game with a concussion. So he is in the protocol right now, and Matt Moore, the veteran backup, will take his place if need be. Moore completed 17 of his 28 passes against Tampa Bay last week, but the Dolphins turned the ball over five times overall, and they committed 17 penalties, if you can believe it, in the 30-20 defeat. This nightmare started with a 40-0 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, which Moore started, and then, after Cutler had a pretty good outing against Oakland, completing his first 16 passes even in defeat, they have lost in really disappointing fashion to Carolina and Tampa Bay. Miami is now 4-6 straight-up and 3-5-2 against the points.

The Patriots are definitely going strong at the moment; they are winners of seven games in a row and seem to have worked out the defensive problems that plague them over the first four games of the campaign. And it’s been a dramatic turnaround; they allowed 32 points per game over the first four, allowing each opposing quarterback to hit the 300-yard plateau. Since then, they’ve allowed 12.5 points per game, and they are looking incredibly efficient at the moment. New England is 8-2 straight-up and 6-4 ATS, and they now have a three-game lead in the AFC East.

If you’re looking for encouragement on the Dolphins’ side, they were able to get big games out of a couple of their wide receivers. Jarvis Landry is a guy who has played most of the season as if he’s had handcuffs, as he’s had a lot of receptions, but not covering much ground. On Sunday he had six catches for 95 yards, even though that only brought his average up to 8.5 yards per catch. Kenny Stills had 180 yards in receptions. Damien Williams had 78 yards on the ground, and a lot of critics point to Miami’s trade of Jay Ajayias a sign that they were waving the white flag. They are not necessarily out of the playoff race; in fact, they are only one game out of the second wild-card spot, although it should be mentioned that they are joined by the New York Jets, Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers and Oakland Raiders with 4-6 records.

VietBet patrons probably know that the New England ground attack has not worked as well as they planned, as Mike Gillislee (3.6 yards per carry) has not necessarily filled the shoes of LeGarrette Blount. But they been getting another superlative season out of Tom Brady, as we need to mention something that is astonishing from a statistical standpoint. Brady had 28 touchdown passes and only two interceptions last season, which was an all-time best ratio, and this year he’s thrown just two interceptions again, with 22 touchdowns. That means from the beginning of last season, he has 50 touchdowns and just four interceptions. Brandin Cooks, who was acquired in the off-season, has been the long-range threat Bill Belichick was hoping for, as he has averaged 17.5 yards per catch, including a 64-yard touchdown against Oakland last week in a 33-8 victory in Mexico City. As long as New England is on the right track defensively, they might indeed be able to create a huge margin against this Miami team, which has lost eight consecutive times at Gillette Stadium.
