In the College Football betting odds that have been established at BetAnySports on this game,Clemson is the solid favorite:
Clemson Tigers -9.5, Louisville Cardinals +9.5
Over/Under 48 Points -110
There is very little doubt that the Louisville Cardinals are having a little rougher time of it than perhaps first-year (and returning) coach Bobby Petrino had originally imagined. On Saturday, they will continue with their Atlantic Coast Conference schedule as they pay a visit to the Clemson Tigers, who seem to be brimming with confidence right now as they feel they have revived their offense under a new trigger man. Football betting action gets underway at 3:30 PM ET at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, SC.
Clemson, which began the season it with coal stout as the starting quarterback has moved over to DeShaun Watson at that position, and currently the youngster ranks second in the nation in passing efficiency, qith 72% completions, 12 TD’s and just one interception. Clemson had an opportunity to pull off an upset against top -ranked Florida State, which was without Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston, and lost 23-17 in overtime. Since then, they have rolled over North Carolina (50-35) and North Carolina State (41-0). They are currently ranked 25th in the nation in the latest coaches poll, and have covered four of their five games against the pointspread.
Louisville had to replace quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who was taken in the first round of the draft by the Minnesota Vikings and is now their starting quarterback. They got an outstanding performance in the spring game from Will Gardner, who threw for over 400 yards, but Gardner suffered an injury on September 20 against Florida International and hasn’t played since. There has been some confusion as to his availability lately, as Petrino had mentioned that he would be available for last week’s game against Syracuse, when in truth he was only to be called upon in an emergency capacity. BetAnySports customers have not heard definite word yet, but it would seem likely that Reggie Bonnafon, who has started in Gardner’s place, will be the #1 quarterback again on Saturday. He led a so-so performance by the Cardinal offense, with 352 yards in the Carrier Dome against the Orange.
Clemson has a lot of athletic people on defense, not the least of which is Vic Beasley, who comes like a freight train from the outside and has registered seven sacks this season. Football bettors have not been overly impressed with Bonnefon and his ability to make decisions quickly, so it is expected that the pressure on the pass rush will bother him. The same problem might exist with Gardner, whose mobility would be hampered after suffering that knee injury.
Clemson has been pretty good when it comes to covering the point spread at BetAnySports, as they have cashed tickets in eight of their last 10 games. They do have some ground to make up, however, if they hope to be in the ACC title game. They will need a little luck too. No, make that a LOT of luck, since Florida State sits atop the Atlantic Division standings with a 3-0 record.
Speaking of luck, you can take some of that factor out of the equation as you play with reduced juice options at BetAnySports!
