Buccaneers vs Panthers Odds and Football Betting Preview
The story with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season is pretty simple – they have been able to move the football, regardless of which quarterback they are using, but have also made too many mistakes and can’t seem to stop the opposition. Well, this week they have made a move toward cutting down on those miscues, but we are not sure they can do much about the defense as they face-off against the Carolina Panthers in a game beginning at 1 PM ET at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. This will be televised by Fox, and while BetAnySports customers are watching it, they can place wagers in real-time when they access the state-of-the-art software from Live Betting Ultra.

Buccaneers vs Panthers Odds – CJ’s Take
Jameis Winston sat out the first three games of the season on a suspension, and Ryan Fitzpatrick, the journeyman backup, threw for 400 yards in each of those games. Winston came back and assumed the starting role, and has already thrown 10 interceptions, so head coach Dirk Koetter went back to Fitzpatrick during last week’s game against Cincinnati. He promptly brought them back from a 21-point deficit to tie the game 34-34, but ultimately Cincinnati kicked a field goal to win the game. But this was enough for Koetter to make the move back to “FitzMagic” for this one.
The Panthers, at 5-2, are positioning themselves once again for a playoff berth. They have proven themselves against accomplished opposition the last couple of weeks, beating the Philadelphia Eagles on the road and then coming back home and defeating the Baltimore Ravens rather decisively. Quarterback Cam Newton, a former Most Valuable Player, is having a nice season, as he’s completed 66% of his passes and has been intercepted only four times. He has also added 309 rushing yards.
Fitzpatrick is 68% accurate this season, and even though he has dropped back a lot, he’s been sacked only eight times. As Tampa Bay operates without an imposing ground attack (only 3.8 yards per attempt), the Bucs will invariably travel by air. And you have to wonder who was going to stop their top three receivers. Mike Evans is an especially big target, and he’s already got 770 yards. DeSean Jackson is averaging 22.8 yards per catch, and the Panthers are hoping that their rookie, Donte Jackson (no relation) can keep pace with him. Then there’s tight end O.J. Howard, who gets the most out of his catches (17.5 yards on average).
Tampa Bay’s defense is like an open invite for Newton. They have allowed opponents to complete 74% of their passes for well over eight yards an attempt (8.4, to be exact), and they have intercepted only one pass. Newton’s mobility allows him to escape a lot of pass rushers, so he’ll buy time for his receivers. Obviously tight end Greg Olson is one of them, and Christian McCaffrey has caught 44 passes out of the backfield. But the wideouts have not been as productive. So you have to wonder what kind of margin Carolina can create. After all, in Tampa Bay’s four defeats, they have been able to keep things within one possession in three of them (the only blowout loss coming at Chicago). Maybe the most judicious play here is to go OVER the total.
