Honduras – A Closer Look:

Honduras enters the game with three wins, a draw and two losses in their past six games and is currently ranked number 65 in the world by FIFA. Honduras just made it to the last round of World Cup Qualifying for the 2018 tournament in Russia by finishing a point ahead of Canada in Group A of the CONCACAF Semifinal Round. Honduras has played twice so far in the final round with both matches coming at home. They dropped a 1-0 decision to Panama back on November 11th and then beat Trinidad & Tobago 3-1 four days later.

Honduras then played in the Copa Centroamericana in Panama in January. This was the qualifier for the Gold Cup and the team went unbeaten in five games with four wins and a draw. They won the Central American event for the fourth time in the nation’s history with their performance. The Hondurans were then beaten 1-0 to Jamaica on February 16th in Houston and six day later were beaten 3-1 by Ecuador. Honduras has two draws in three away contests so far in the World Cup Qualifying campaign.

The USA plays Panama four days after meeting Honduras and can get right back in the qualifying race by taking all six points. They’re currently at the bottom of the six-team group with no points.
