Yes, you can make the assumption rather easily that the New England Patriots are going to facing a hostile crowd when they come out of the tunnel at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday night to face the Indianapolis Colts. Make that VERY hostile. Certainly the memories of the whole “Deflategate” situation are resonating in their heads, although truth be told, the Colts could have been playing with a watermelon and it wouldn’t have made all that much of a difference in last season’s AFC title game, in which the Pats romped by a 45-7 count. This game gets underway at 8:30 PM ET and will be televised live on NBC. This is not exactly a new and improved version of the Colts, although that was the design in the off-season as the team signed veteran skill players in wide receiver Andre Johnson and running back Frank Gore. They have struggled to keep things together to this point, with a 3-2 straight-up record (1-4 ATS). Indy has actually won its last two games with backup Matt Hasselbeck at quarterback, as he has stepped in for Andrew Luck, who has been idle with a shoulder ailment. But all indications are that Luck will be in the lineup and ready to go for this one, as the Colts try to build on the lead they have in the AFC South.

We can talk all day here about deflated footballs, but we won’t. The Indianapolis defensive line looked limp in its two meetings against New England last year, rushing for 421 yards. The Pats don’t appear to be badly equipped to do that again, at least if you look at running backs LeGarrette Blount (4.7 ypc) and Dion Lewis (5.0 ypc). The Colts have yielded 3.8 yards per rushing attempt this season. And there is a complication for the Patriots….

Here is the complication for New England – they have now lost starting left tackle Nate Solder for the season with a biceps injury. Remember that the Patriots were already starting two rookies on the offensive line. We know how quickly Tom Brady can get rid of the football, which is to say that he is as fast as anyone. But he still got sacked five times against the Dallas Cowboys last weekend. So that is unquestionably a potential trouble spot. However, Indianapolis needs to get after the passer a lot better (just six sacks in five games). Robert Mathis has only one of those sacks.

Brady is once again impressing Vietbet customers with his ability to carve up opposing defenses. In 160 attempts, he has yet to throw an interception, and he is creating new receiving stars once again. This season, it’s Lewis, the University of Pittsburgh product who has caught 23 passes out of the backfield for 238 yards. And he has big-play capability. Tight end Rob Gronkowski can’t be covered by ANYBODY; he has rumble;ed for 18.8 yards a reception, which is exceptional for someone at his position.

The Colts have brought back a familiar face this week, as Ahmad Bradshaw returns to back up Gore. As most NFL bettors know, Bradshaw has a tendency to get injured a lot, so we can’t vouch for his long-term impact. But keep in mind that New England has shown itself somewhat vulnerable to the run, giving up 4.7 yards per attempt.
