RGIII’s Return Brings Some Intrigue and a Fab Five Spot

Washington Redskins Pick ’em at Minnesota Vikings
When looking at this week’s NFL schedule one of the things that pro football bettors were intrigued and curious about was whether the Washington Redskins were going to make the move to switch quarterbacks yet again after their impressive Monday night victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
Well, now those people have their answer.
Robert Griffin, the Heisman Trophy winner who dislocated his ankle in the second game of the season and has not played since, will be behind center on Sunday as the Redskins visit the Minnesota Vikings (1 PM ET), replacing Colt McCoy, who completed 36 out of his 42 passes and about a game and a half, leading Washington to two victories.
Griffin has been working out for the past couple of weeks, and coach Jay Gruden was faced with the decision as to whether to make Griffin active for this Sunday’s game or wait until after the bye week as the team had a date with Tampa Bay. But he has decided to pull the trigger now. This game is rated a pick ’em in the pro football betting odds at VietBet.
New York Jets +9.0 at Kansas City Chiefs
Another quarterback change is taking place with the New York Jets, who have decided to sit down Geno Smith, whose development isn’t going quite as well as they expected, and replace him with Michael Vick, who did step in for Smith in the first quarter of last Sunday’s game against Buffalo after Smith through THREE interceptions. Vick was not exactly steady the rest of the way, as he lost two fumbles and threw an interception of his own. But the Jets have to do something to get the pot stirring, and Vick did lead the team on some scoring drives in the 43-23 drubbing at the hands of the Bills.
The opponents in this 1 PM ET start at Arrowhead Stadium are the Kansas City Chiefs, who have gotten much more consistent quarterback play out of Alex Smith, who has thrown only one interception in the last six games. It is not a coincidence that the Chiefs have covered all six. In this game, Kansas City is a nine-point favored in the pro football betting odds at VietBet.
San Diego Chargers +2.5 at Miami Dolphins
The San Diego Chargers will try to shake off the effects of two straight losses as they travel cross-country to Miami to face the Dolphins. Miami is coming off a couple of pretty good performances, as they dominated the Chicago Bears and were able to take care of matters on defense as they returned two interceptions for touchdowns at Jacksonville. This is a team that has encountered a bumpy road with internal problems, but they are right there in the wild-card mix. The Chargers obviously have one of the best quarterbacks in football in Philip Rivers (20 touchdown passes, only five interceptions), but the running game has been adversely affected by injuries. The Dolphins are a 2.5-point favorite in the NFL betting odds at VietBet this week (1 PM ET).
Baltimore Ravens -2.0 at Pittsburgh Steelers
To answer your question, we have no idea how Ben Roethlisberger is going to top the 522 yards and six touchdown passes from last week’s game against Indianapolis, but obviously he doesn’t necessarily have to in order to direct his Pittsburgh Steelers to a victory. On Sunday night (8:30 PM ET), they line up for action at Heinz Field against the Baltimore Ravens, who looked so awesome for a couple of games as they ran roughshod over Tampa Bay and Atlanta, before coming back down to earth against Cincinnati last weekend. The Steelers have truly been a Jekyll and Hyde squad, but they were really humming on offense last week behind Big Then, who completed 40 of his 49 passes. They obviously have the ground game, and set a nice pace with their no-huddle offense. In this game, the Ravens are two-point favorite in the pro football odds at VietBet.
Denver Broncos -3.0 at New England Patriots
Of course, the marquee matchup of the day might be the one taking place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough (4:25 PM ET), as the New England Patriots play host to the Denver Broncos. It is yet another chapter in the ongoing rivalry between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. The Broncos have legitimately look like a well-oiled machine, with a spotless record except for their visit to Seattle, where they fell short in overtime in an attempt to avenge their Super Bowl loss to the Seahawks. The Patriots, as you recall, were left four dead not too long ago, but after being destroyed by Kansas City, but they have roared back with three consecutive victories, putting up 51 points against Chicago in their last outing. The Broncos are three-point favorite on the road at VietBet in this showcase game.
