NFL Preseason Betting Odds at VietBet – Seahawks Look to Continue Rolling at Home Against Bears
By Charles Jay
The Seattle Seahawks pretty much carved up the San Diego Chargers last week in their return to CenturyLink Field. On Friday night they will play host to the Chicago Bears in NFL betting action that is slated to begin at 10 PM ET
The Seahawks took no prisoners against San Diego last weekend, registering a 41-14 victory that gave this team a sense of satisfaction just a week after losing to the Denver Broncos (last season’s Super Bowl foe). The Bears have won both of their pre-season games thus far, with a 34-28 victory over Philadelphia in the opening week and a 20-19 close shave against Jacksonville last week.
Pete Carroll is very competitive, even in the exhibition season, and as you might imagine, in this game, which usually suffices as the one where the starters play the most during August, they will probably be ready to give a focused effort on both sides of the ball.
In the NFL betting odds that have been posted by VietBet, the Seahawks are solid favorites:
Seattle Seahawks -7 (-115)
Chicago Bears +7 (-105)
Over 45 Points -110
Under 45 Points -110
If you looked at last week’s game, you realized that Seattle bullied its way to 243 yards and five touchdowns on the ground against the beleaguered Chargers. And Marshawn Lynch didn’t even get a carry. This week the Seahawks bring some starters in who could get their first playing time of the pre-season. It looks as if linebacker Malcolm Smith and safety Kam Chancellor will be ready to go, not to mention a couple of offensive linemen, Russell Okung and Max Unger. And there is little question that Lynch will see more action.
NFL bettors at VietBet who have been paying attention know that Carroll is not one of those guys who lays down at all when it comes to playing pre-season games, especially at home, where the ‘Hawks have outscored the opposition by a 151-50 margin over their last five at CenturyLink Field. Hence the hefty pointspread.
Russell Wilson looked very sharp in last week’s game, completing eleven of twelve passes, and of course he gets the start again. The bears also got an effort that was more than adequate out of Jay Cutler in their win over Jacksonville, as he went 7-for-9, and beyond that, Jimmy Clausen and Jordan Palmer combined to go 17-for-24. Palmer will be the first off the bench on Friday night. This week there may be a new target to throw to, as former Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes was recently signed to a deal and has been in camp for almost a week. He will likely be competing with Josh Morgan for the #3 wide receiver spot.
As usual, VietBet patrons can expect that the Seattle crowd will be an impediment to the Bears getting plays off. We are looking at a Seahawks team that has now won and covered nine of its last ten pre-season games, and there appears to be no overwhelming reason they couldn’t do the same here.
