NFC Championship Betting Line – Falcons vs Packers January 22nd, 2017

How Do You Stop the Atlanta Falcons?

For the Atlanta Falcons, there is every reason to believe that they can move the football at will against almost anybody. After all, they were the highest-scoring team in the league this season, averaging just short of 34 points per game. And they have a record-setting quarterback. They might even be MORE optimistic if they didn’t have to encounter a freight train called Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, who come into town on Sunday for the NFC championship game at the Georgia Dome. It will kick off at 3:05 PM ET, and VietBet customers can engage in real-time wagering, even after the opening whistle, as they access what is available through Live Betting Ultra.

NFC Championship Betting – CJ’s Take:

Matt Ryan has always been known as a quarterback who could put up big numbers, but not necessarily as someone who could win big games. His playoff record coming into this season was just 1-4, but, as the Falcons benefited from a first-round bye, they came in rested and ready for the game last week against the Seattle Seahawks, and they came away with a 36-20 victory. They scored a safety against Russell Wilson, but the other 34 points were pure Ryan and an almost unstoppable Atlanta offense. And let’s not forget; this was a Seattle defense that has struck fear into the hearts of many. We will be the first to point out that Earl Thomas was not available for the Seahawks in that one, and that weakened the Seattle secondary a little, but there are plenty of holes in Green Bay’s defensive backfield, and Ryan is an ideal guy to exploit them.

Ryan averaged 9.3 yards per attempt this season, and that is an NFL record. He also found 13 different receivers for touchdowns, which also set an NFL standard. So what was the reason for so much success? Well, one of the things was that offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, who is rumored to be on his way to the head-coaching job in San Francisco, was a lot more flexible with this approach. Ryan wanted to do a lot of no-huddle, to change the tempo and keep defenses off-balance, while Shanahan was not a proponent of it. But the coordinator bended, and Ryan responded.

When you talk about weaponry, you get to start with Julio Jones, who had over 1400 receiving yards this season on 17 yards per catch. Now, the dilemma for the Falcons in the recent past has been putting together explosive receivers who could take some of the attention away from Jones, and even though they got part of that with the acquisition of Mohammed Sanu, the guy who really put them over the top was Tyler Gabriel, who had six touchdown catches and 16.5 yards per reception, and is someone all defensive coordinators have to prepare for.

And VietBet patrons know that there is plenty of production out of the backfield. Both Davonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman can run with the ball and produced plenty in the way of receptions. Freeman averaged 4.8 yards per carry and caught 54 passes for Ryan, while Coleman had 520 yards on the ground and 421 through the air. These guys know how to cross the goal line to; they combined for 24 touchdowns. Green Bay has suffered plenty of injuries to its secondary, and they have people playing out of position – a prospect that gets worse if Morgan Burnett, who has a thigh injury, can’t suit up. When you’re point total is among the top ten in the history of the NFL, as Atlanta’s is, you are going to be a threat on every possession. If Green Bay turns much of its attention on the explosive Jones, they can get burned in a number of other ways.
