Nebraska Hopes to Present Hostile Setting For Young Miami QB

The Nebraska Cornhuskers got a close call against a team that doesn’t even play Division I (aka FBS) football, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t a very formidable crew. On Saturday night they will take to the field against the Miami Hurricanes in football betting action that is set to kick off at 8 PM ET at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
Nebraska which is part of the Big Ten, needed a late touchdown to escape the possibility of overtime against McNeese State in their second game of the year. They are ranked 22nd nationally in the coaches’ poll and #24 by the Associated Press. Miami lost 31-13 to Louisville in its first game of the season and has proceeded to score easy victories over Florida A&M and Arkansas State.
These two programs will be linked forever in the minds of BetAnySports patrons, because they have battled each other with considerably more on the line. It is indeed true that the schedule in the early going has not been all that challenging for Nebraska, as aside from McNeese State, they have faced Florida Atlantic and Fresno State. But you have to think that running back Ameer Abdullah, who ran for 1690 yards last season, is very much for real. Abdullah has thus far averaged 6.9 yards a carry, and he had the decisive TD against McNeese State on a catch-and-run that was absolutely spectacular.
And he is not the only offensive weapon for football bettors to consider. Jordan Westerkamp has averaged almost 21 yards a reception. Of course, quarterback Tommy Armstrong is someone who can run with the football, though his accuracy as a passer is suspect (just 53%, after going 52% last year). However, he has done a much better job of keeping the ball out of enemy hands (7 TD’s, one INT).

Brad Kaaya took a few lumps at Louisville in Week 1, but he has pretty good pocket presence for a youngster, and had 342 yards through the air against Arkansas State. He is making a start in an intimidating venue, and now the Huskers have the services of elite pass rusher Randy Gregory, who has registered 10.5 sacks last season.
Duke Johnson (277 yards, 6.4 ypc) would like to give Abdullah an argument for who is the best running back on the field, but he has often been slowed up against quality opponents. Against Louisville he had 90 yards on twenty carries.
