Philadelphia handed the Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the season last week with a 21-10 home win. The Eagles are in second place in the division with a 4-2 record. Dallas leads the division at 5-1 after sitting out last weekend with a bye. Philadelphia can tie Dallas at the top of the NFC East with a win at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles – A Closer Look:
Philadelphia was led by its special teams and defense in their 21-10 win over Minnesota. The defensive line dominated the Minnesota offensive line and former Eagles’ quarterback Sam Bradford was forced into four turnovers after being sacked six times. The Eagles’ offense was below par though for the second straight week as it also turned the ball over four times and totaled only 239 yards in the game. Lineman Lane Johnson missed the contest due to a suspension, but the offensive line did its job against the Minnesota pass rush.
Quarterback Carson Wentz will need to be a bit better against the Cowboys if the Eagles hope to earn a win. He’s struggled slightly against good secondaries. However, he’ll be facing a Dallas squad which is ranked 20th in the league in passing defense so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If the Eagles’ defensive line can keep it up for another week they’ll have a decent chance in Dallas. But they’ll be up against the league’s best offensive line, which will make things more difficult.
Dallas Cowboys – A Closer Look:
Dallas has won five straight games and has gone 5-0 ATS over that stretch, all without their injured starting quarterback Tony Romo. Their ground attack has been a key to the winning streak with rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott leading the way behind the strong offensive line. Elliot has picked up a minimum of 130 rushing yards in each of his last four outings. Rookie quarterback Dak Prescott has also done his part and is one of the league’s best passers this season. He struggled a little in his last game against Green Bay as he was picked off for the first time in his career and finished with a 67 per cent completion rate in passing.
However, there was also a bright side to his performance as Prescott threw three touchdown passes for the first time also. Dallas faced the league’s best run defense in Green Bay, but still managed to rack up 191 rushing yards. They’ll be facing the Eagles’ 15th-ranked run defense this weekend, so should still be able to carry the ball with success. Last week’s bye may have helped since Dez Bryant is now back with the squad and back practicing while cornerback Orlando Scandrick should be in the lineup this weekend after missing four games. In addition, Morris Claiborne may also return after suffering a concussion against Green Bay.
