Arsenal – A Closer Look:
Arsenal enters the contest in sixth place in the Premier League and hasn’t won the league title since 2004. They have 17 wins, six draws and eight defeats for 57 points with 63 goals scored and 40 allowed. They’re 18 points behind league-leading Chelsea with a game in hand. But with just seven games left in the season for the Gunners they’re now focusing on a top-four finish and a spot in next season’s European Champions League. They still have some work to do to achieve that goal though.
Arsenal is seven points behind fourth-place Manchester City, their opponents on Sunday, with a game in hand. Arsenal also has to leapfrog over fifth-place Manchester United, who are three points in front of them. In addition, Everton is also tied with Arsenal on points, but the Gunners do have two games in hand on them. Arsenal managed a 2-1 win at Middlesbrough in their last outing on Monday. However, they have just three wins, a draw and four losses in their last eight games with 12 goals for and 15 against.
Arsenal is without midfielder Santi Cazorla for the rest of the season while goaltenders David Ospina and Petr Cech are questionable along with defender Laurent Koscielny and forward Lucas Perez. Arsenal shares the record with Manchester United for the most FA Cup Final wins with 12 and for the most appearances with 19. Their last appearance and win was 2014/15 when they hammered Aston Villa 4-0. Arsenal also beat Championship League club Preston North End 2-1 away this year’s FA Cup, thumped Premier League side Southampton 5-0 away and beat non-league side Sutton United 2-0 away.
Manchester City – A Closer Look:

Like Arsenal, they’ll be fighting for a top-four finish and a pass to the Champions League. City has 19 wins on the season along with seven draws and six losses. They’ve scored 63 goals and allowed 35 against. They last played on Saturday and beat Southampton 3-0 away on the south coast.
City has a four-point lead on fifth-place Manchester United and a seven-point edge on Arsenal and Everton, but Man United and Arsenal each have a game in hand while City has a game in hand on Everton. City has four wins, three draws and a loss in their last eight matches with 14 goals scored and eight conceded. As far as injuries go for the game on Sunday, striker Gabriel Jesus and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan are out of action for the rest of the season.
Along with beating Middlesbrough in the quarterfinals, Man City also hammered fellow Premier League sides West Ham United 5-0 away in the third round and Crystal Palace 3-0 away in the fourth round. They then beat Championship League side Huddersfield Town 5-1 at home in a fifth-round replay after drawing the first meeting 0-0 away. City has played in 10 FA Cup Finals with five wins and five losses. Their last win was 1-0 over Stoke in 2010/11.
Arsenal vs Manchester City – Takeaway:
